He never tires of mentioning that he is fluent in over six million forms of communication. He is portrayed by actor Anthony Daniels.R2-D2 (Artoo), is an astromech droid and counterpart to C-3PO. R2-D2 was played by Kenny Baker in all six Star Wars films, with many scenes filmed using mechanical and computer-generated imagery (CGI) versions of the character.
