Mica's are non-toxic occurring naturally from the minerals muscovite and silicate. Mica, if smaller than 20 microns, gives a satiny appearance while large mica's provide a sparkly effect. Mica's are then coated with various natural oxides and titanium dioxide (from Canada) to give a full range of colours. . Please note that around 60%* of the world’s mica is sourced in India. A huge part of this is considered to be mined in socially and economically challenged regions, with a high incidence of child labour, corruption in the supply chain, and poor working conditions.
